Brittany + Aaron Fairytale Garden Wedding
I am thrilled to be sharing Brittany and Aaron’s fairytale garden wedding. I began design for Brittany and Aaron’s wedding in the summer of 2019 and it was instantly an event I was over the moon to work on. I remember specifically that Brittany told me she wanted a “modern, garden fairytale wedding”. We dreamed up a grand vision of drapery, hanging floral moments and a statement flower wall. That vision also included an indoor reception for 200 guests.
While it looked different, Brittany and Aaron were my only clients in all of 2020 to actually get married on their wedding date. They got married at the end of August, regulations were all over the place in Michigan at that time, so we waited until the 11th hour to make the call on how to move forward. Ultimately Brittany and Aaron decided to move the wedding to Aaron’s parents backyard. The original design remained, but they cut the guest list to 40 of their closest friends and family and had a lovely intimate wedding under a tent on the perfect night.
While the logistics all changed, we kept many of the ideas and details from the original design. Cassie from Cass & Jean Flower Co. brought the vision to life with hundreds of beautiful blooms in a pastel palette. The ceremony florals were absolute show stoppers and the hanging installation in the tent set the mood. We added dozens of candles and beautiful lilac linens to complete the look. AP Baked Goods’ stunning floral confections were literally the frosting on the cake!
Despite the challenges and disappointments of having a wedding in 2020, the couple told me that day was perfect and they couldn’t imagine it any other way. I couldn’t be happier they Brittany and Aaron got their fairytale ending!
