How Does Wedding E-Design Work?
I get asked all the time, “how does your e-design service work?” It’s a great question and sometimes can be tough to paint the picture for what you get and how it will actually execute. For this service I create a completely customized visual design plan for your wedding. So you have a professional wedding designer making a plan for your day for an amazing price!
I often pair my e-design services with my day-of coordination, but what I love about this e-design is that anyone, no matter your location can also use this service.
One of my fun-loving, fabulous couples, Danit and Rush, hired me for e-design only and kindly shared their photos (captured by Christian Gideon) with me. This post helps illustrates how the design on paper can be brought to life. Keep scrolling to read more about the process and see real world examples of how it all comes together.
I always begin the process with a phone call. I dig in and ask lots of questions to hone in on the vibe and find out exactly what is most important to you as a couple. From there, I ask that you share your Pinterest board or other inspiration you have gathered, and I put together a mood board. This is the mood board I created for Danit and Rush.
Once the mood board is created, we have a second phone call where we discuss it, likes and dislikes, and any swaps you’d like to see. I also take this time to ask additional questions to gather all the information I need to paint the picture of your wedding day.
Once I make the tweaks to the mood board and it is signed off on, I move on to create involved plans for each detail you’d like to include in your wedding, including, but not limited to, flowers, table top, ceremony, cake, bar, paper goods, bridal style, groom style, etc. Each design plan usually contains about 15 pages.
You can see above the design plan page for the ceremony. Danit and Rush were able to show this to their florist and below is what the executed.
I get as specific as possible and source actual items and DIY tutorials (if you’re that kind of couple). For Danit and Rush, I sourced specific signage, table runners and a few fun DIY ideas.
I also get SUPER specific on flowers. I often consult with a florist. I have knowledge, but I’m not the expert here. I research which blooms will be in season in your area and call out particular flowers and greens, along with notes on shape and size that your florist will have no problem interpreting.
