Peter Jacob Kind is a talented furniture, product and interior designer freelance and for his business, Peter Jacob Kind Creative. Peter is also one of three co-founders and lead designer of Michigan House, a creative, experience-driven event aiming to connect Michigan creatives to a large audience of innovators with an annual event at SXSW. And, because this is Hyphen Life, Peter is also a partner at a beloved local West Michigan bakery, The Cakabakery.

Peter and I discuss the stigma of living a hyphen life and why we shouldn’t care how other people perceive our careers. He also breaks down exactly what the heck Michigan House is, spoiler, it’s one of the coolest things happening her in Michigan. Peter talks all about his personal interior style, his winding career journey and his beautiful friendships with a creative community.
