Hyphen Life Episode 9: Amy Carroll Photography
Amy Carroll has been a wedding photographer for over 15 years. She is one of the most sought after wedding photographers in West Michigan. Amy also photographs numerous family and portrait sessions each season. In 2015 she launched her online printshop and currently has work on Minted, West Elm, PB Teen and Urban Outfitters. Amy and her husband, Jeff, bought a cottage in Northern Michigan to use when they photograph weddings and decided to become Airbnb hosts when they are not using themselves. Amy’s exceptional talent put her on the map, but her kindness, warmth, genuineness and willingness to adapt has kept her there for over a decade and a half.
Hyphen Life Episode 8: Marissa Fellows
Marissa Fellows is a writer in many forms with her own creative agency, Goodfellows Creative. She is also an experiential designer creating trade show and brand touch point moments for some of the worlds biggest brands. In early 2020 Marissa launched a dinner club local in Grand Rapids, aimed to cultivate community and celebrate local chefs and food.
Hyphen Life Episode 7: Liv Lyszyk
Liv Lyszk is a LGBTQ focused wedding photographer. As a queer woman, she saw a hole in the market and created and launched an online inclusivity workshop in 2019. She also does corporate and 1-on-1 coaching on the same topic. Most recently, she launched a watercolor print shop, featuring kitschy, diversity-celebrating prints and greeting cards.

Miranda Schroeder owns a digital marketing agency, MS Digital Marketing, has a successful lifestyle blog, is an influencer in the online home and lifestyle space and she just launched a wedding & event planning business, Thoughtfully Designed Co., so new it hadn’t even launched at the time of our interview! All this while working a full-time marketing job! She is the definition of #hyphenlife.

Peter Jacob Kind is a talented furniture, product and interior designer freelance and for his business, Peter Jacob Kind Creative. Peter is also one of three co-founders and lead designer of Michigan House, a creative, experience-driven event aiming to connect Michigan creatives to a large audience of innovators with an annual event at SXSW. And, because this is Hyphen Life, Peter is also a partner at a beloved local West Michigan bakery, The Cakabakery.

While creating this business she noticed a hole in the luxury lingerie market in West Michigan and opened Naughty Bettie, a high-end lingerie shop. To round out her empowerment mission she also leads #SquadBettie, an online community, used as a safe space to share, celebrate and lift each other up. When it’s not a global pandemic, #SquadBettie hosts empowering in person events.
