Getting My Protein
This post is a little out of the ordinary for my space on the internet, but sometimes if a product comes across my desk that I have been wanting to give a try, I jump at the opportunity. That is what happened with Protein Oats, I have partnered with Naked Nutrition to share my experience with the product, but thoughts and opinions are my own.
I don’t have the best breakfast habits, often I run out the door with a piece of toast in my hand, which probably isn’t the optimum option for a middle-aged woman who gets her exercise in first thing in the morning. I have also been a vegetarian going on three decades and pay little attention to the amount of protein I consume. I regularly eat eggs, peanut butter and beans, but I estimate I consume less than 50 grams of protein a day, which is nowhere near the recommended daily amount.
Enter Naked Nutrition protein oats. I’m at the age where I need to step up my skin care game and I really need to step up my nutrition routine. Eating “mostly healthy” isn’t cutting it anymore, and with little kids and a busy life, I don’t have time to prepare gourmet meals that cater to everyone’s nutritional needs and preferences, so I am thrilled to have found a supplement that is not only delicious and easy, but will help me get to my recommended amount of daily protein.
As I mentioned previously, my breakfast habit was running out the door with a piece of toast in my hand, mixing Naked Nutrition Protein Oats into a shake or smoothie takes about the same amount of time as waiting for my toast to pop. Two scoops of Protein Oats starts my day with 20 grams of protein.
I have been blending the cinnamon roll flavor protein oats with a banana and almond milk for a tasty protein smoothy that is easy to take on the go. If you are more of an overnight oats fan, it is super simple to shake the mix with milk and refrigerate overnight. It also comes in 7 flavors. Think I will have to try the chocolate peanut butter next!
