Brittany + Aaron Fairytale Garden Wedding
Brittany and Aaron wanted a “modern, garden fairytale wedding”. With Brittany’s vision and my design, Cassie from Cass & Jean Flower Co. brought the vision to life with hundreds of beautiful blooms in a pastel palette. The ceremony florals were absolute show stoppers and the hanging installation took a basic white tent to the next level! We added dozens of candles and beautiful lilac linens to complete the look. AP Baked Goods’ stunning floral confections were literally the frosting on the cake!
Our House Two Years Later
A few weeks ago we celebrated our second anniversary in our home! We have put our mark on nearly every inch of this house and just a few big ticket updates remain, like flooring and major bathroom renos. I did a post last year at this time sharing all the changes we made in our first year in the home. Now it’s time to update you on all the changes and upgrade we made in the past year.
2020 Gift Guide: My Wish List
I love sharing my personal wish list with you every year! For the past DECADE I’ve been rounding up the items that top my personal list. They often range from home goods to accessories and as you’ll see below even a power tool or two. This year I’m craving all things to elevate our home - a new set of matching mugs, new pair of slippers and books from two of my favorite designers!
2020 Gift Guide: Kids
Today’s gift guide is for the kiddos. When you have a five year old who only wants Minecraft and Legos finding special and shopping small is a bit of a challenge. I searched the internet for well designed toys your kids will enjoy.
2020 Gift Guide: Shop Local Grand Rapids
I am lucky enough to be part of the entrepreneurial community of Grand Rapids. There are so many rad people doing, making and selling amazing things here in my city! I know we are all struggling this year, especially us small business owners, it seems like the least we can do is support each other.
One Room Challenge Week 6 // Studio Bath Reveal
In some projects there is one element that makes the room, this bath makeover is truly the sum of its parts. Ripping out the dated paneled drop ceiling, raising the height and adding shiplap made a HUGE difference. Adding decretive trim to to the walls, doors and bookshelf made this makeover look way more expensive than it was. A fresh coat of moody purple-grey paint (“Vintage Collection” by Magnolia) changed the space and the new vinyl peel and stick floor tiles completed the look.
One Room Challenge Week 4 // Paint Color and Progress
Although I have a lot more to go, I’ve made a lot of progress. I installed drywall and shelving in the closet, I’ve painted and primed the storage shelves and I also added all the trim to the walls and painted. Come check out my progress!
One Room Challenge Week 3 // Modern Mirror + Sconce Combinations
Since I have little progress to show this week, I am going to share some fabulous modern mirror and sconce combinations that were on the table for this project. The combos are heavy on rich metals, clean lines and special details.
One Room Challenge Week 2 // Gift Closet
Currently working on our basement bath renovation, the unique part about this bathroom is that there are two large storage closets and a storage shelf. I plan to keep one closet as storage, my family’s personal keepsake items. The storage shelf will be inventory for weddings and styling items and the third closet will be a gift wrapping closet. I am excited about the bathroom looking modern and my style, but I am SO excited about this closet!
