One Room Challenge Week 6 // Studio Bath Reveal
We’ve made it to the finish line of another One Room Challenge!! I really didn’t know if I’d make it. I completely blew past week 5. There was literally no time to do a blog post, I had to keep working. Long nights and early mornings paid off and I can put away my paint brushes for a bit. I do plan to share a couple additional posts on how I installed the shiplap ceiling and my review of the floor tiles, but for now, please enjoy the reveal of my basement/studio bath with beautiful photography by The Lipstick Lens.
This project was nearly completely DIYed by yours truly with the exception of the sink install and it was a labor of love. If you missed the rest of the journey, in week 1 you can see the plans, week 2 I talked about my plans for the gift wrap closet, week 3 I shared mirror and light combos and week 4 I talked paint color.
In some projects there is one element that makes the room, this bath makeover is truly the sum of its parts. Ripping out the dated paneled drop ceiling, raising the height and adding shiplap made a HUGE difference. Adding decretive trim to to the walls, doors and bookshelf made this makeover look way more expensive than it was. A fresh coat of moody purple-grey paint (“Vintage Collection” by Magnolia) changed the space and the new vinyl peel and stick floor tiles completed the look.
SO HERE’S WHAT I DID
drywall closets
build organization into closet
tear out drop ceiling and replace with shiplap ceiling
tear out vanity and add wall mounted sink
add wall trim
paint
add peel and stick floor tiles
replace mirror, light and hardware
add trim and finish work to bookcase
BEFORE
As I mentioned I will put together a blog post on the shiplap ceiling installation and one on the vinyl tile floors. Speaking of the floors, don’t they look great!? Here are the tiles I used.
Love these sweet art pieces, the top is from the Quote House on Etsy and the bottom is by my friend, and the magician that took the photos of this dark bathroom, Colette Wright from The Lipstick Lens.

Over 300 miter saw cuts later, I am thrilled with how this all came together. Don’t forget to see all the other participants reveals here!
