Hyphen Life Episode 3: Elise Kutt

Elise Kutt is the owner and photographer of Mod Bettie Portraits, an all-inclusive portrait boutique on a mission to empower women. She photographs branding, boudoir and beauty shoots aimed to make women feel their best. While creating this business she noticed a hole in the luxury lingerie market in West Michigan and opened Naughty Bettie, a high-end lingerie shop. To round out her empowerment mission she also leads #SquadBettie, an online community, used as a safe space to share, celebrate and lift each other up. When it’s not a global pandemic, #SquadBettie hosts empowering in person events.

We talked about the importance of surrounding your self with people on your level. We discussed taking time and making space to figure out where you want to take your business. And Elise talks about the challenges of building a team and benefits of connecting to a community.

Elise mentions some of the women in her tribe, including Latesha Lipscomb, the woman who helped her launch her #SquadBettie events, Michelle Krick, retail consultant for Naughty Bettie and her the location scouting company she worked for in Chicago, Levinson Locations.

You can find Elise on Instagram at @ModBettiePortraits and @Naughty_Bettie, on Facebook at @ModBettiePortraits and the welcoming and supportive community #SquadBettie.
