Monroe is 6 Months!
How!? How is my little baby 6 months!? It seems like time is going so so much faster this time around. Not sure if it’s because we’ve done it before, or my head is down hustling, or that we have another kid to distract us, or all of it. Either way, I feel like I blinked and here we are!
Monroe, like his brother, is a sweet happy baby, with a million dollar smile and melt your heart baby blues. He just had his 6 month check up and is on the small side, but hopefully things will pick up, because he is absolutely loving trying new foods. Monroe has two adorable little teeth and a wee little bit of hair. He is up on all fours and trying so so hard to crawl, but not quite there yet. His favorite toy is his cute deer stuffed animal and his soft sensory book. He loves watching “The Circle of Life” on YouTube and listening to Fall Out Boy with his dad. Monroe also loves when his brother spins around and falls on the ground.
Speaking of his brother, Oliver is still completely smitten, half a year later. Ollie is the best helper, almost alway willing to fetch things and to sit with the baby while mom fetches things. Oliver entertains his brother and lives to make him happy and giggle.
Mom and dad are doing well. While we have only had one night of continuous sleep, we have mastered the dance of taking turns, and sharing night time responsibilities. I put on (and buttoned!) my skinny skinny jeans the other night and am only a few pounds away from being back where I was before the baby. Of course that’s not the most important thing in the world, but I am starting to feel more like myself and that feels great. I am still breast feeding (and supplementing) and plan to continue for the next few months, until wedding season starts to pick up, then I will start to taper back. We are all doing great and loving life as a family of four!
