One Room Challenge Week 1 - Kids Bathroom Makeover
I started this design back in 2019 and purchased the vanity in 2020, I am THRILLED to finally be starting the reno on the kid’s bath! I will be linking up with the dozens of other bloggers and Instagrammers who are also participating in the One Room Challenge. We will document our progress over the next 6 weeks both here and on my Instagram account.
The layout in this bathroom is straight forward and we will be keeping that, but there is nothing else I like about this bathroom. From the crappy yellow/green light, to the icky carpet, yes carpet, the cheap almond tub surround, to the bright blue countertops I am dying to change it all!!
This is a kids bath so I am planning to have a lot of fun with it. I am planning to make it more fun and more colorful than the rest of the house. The foundation, however will be fairly traditional. I am planning to use classic mosaic tiles on the floor and subway tiles in a unique pattern on the bath walls. The vanity is on the traditional side and countertops are marble. I will be adding punch through fun paint accents, bright art and happy textiles.
Plus this is the first time I’m ever hiring help! Normally very very brave with the DIY, I am afraid to risk major damage and disaster by installing the tub myself. There will be plenty of DIY, always is, but I am excited to hand a little of the work off to someone else. I am excited to share some of that experience with you.
