DIY Lego Table
I finally hit my breaking point of having Lego sets scattered on the coffee table for weeks on end. So I decided to design and build a table for my son to construct and be creative on. This table is a perfect balance of form and function. The light-weight top lifts off to reveal lots of separated organization compartments and it’s bold legs are updated and on-trend. As a maker and a mama, it was so sweet to watch Oliver get excited about something I made for him.
One Room Challenge Week 4 // Paint Color and Progress
Although I have a lot more to go, I’ve made a lot of progress. I installed drywall and shelving in the closet, I’ve painted and primed the storage shelves and I also added all the trim to the walls and painted. Come check out my progress!
One Room Challenge Week 2 // Gift Closet
Currently working on our basement bath renovation, the unique part about this bathroom is that there are two large storage closets and a storage shelf. I plan to keep one closet as storage, my family’s personal keepsake items. The storage shelf will be inventory for weddings and styling items and the third closet will be a gift wrapping closet. I am excited about the bathroom looking modern and my style, but I am SO excited about this closet!
DIY Modern Art Thermostat Cover
I redid these shelves as the very first project when we moved into our house, but the terrible yellowish, ancient thermostat always bugged me and I had to crop it or photoshop it out of every photo. I finally decided that it needed an update, and this thermostat cover, disguised as modern art is the perfect solution!
One Room Challenge Week 4 // DIY Oversized Art
Finally added some color to my blank white studio space with this DIY abstract art and frame. It’s a copycat of an awesome piece by Kacey Hughes with some of my own added flair! Click to see the step by step process!
One Room Challenge Week 3 // DIY Oversized Peg Wall
I am participating in the spring One Room Challenge, giving my basement studio a major upgrade. This week I made an oversized plywood peg wall, perfect for organizing all my little desk trinkets.
One Room Challenge Week 2 // Transformation Though Paint
One Room Challenge Week 2 - Talking all about paint and how I am completely transforming this space from a dingy basement bedroom to a bright loft-inspired studio using less than $200 of paint.
DIY Plaster Table
After shopping around for a new, chunky, expensive-looking waterfall table, but everything I liked was way more than I wanted to spend. I took to my garage to see what materials I had on hand, I spent less than $15 and I came up with a fabulous new entry table! Check out the DIY tutorial!
DIY Floating Shelves
After all the projects I’ve tackled and furniture I’ve built, floating shelves intimidated me. Because I didn’t want to compromise on the design or layout of these shelves, they had to be custom. And, since it was a budget project I had to tackle them myself. I documented my process to share it with you here. Turns out, building floating shelves isn’t as bad as I’d thought it’d be.
