DIY Lego Table
I finally hit my breaking point of having Lego sets scattered on the coffee table for weeks on end. Moms of 6 year-olds can probably relate. So I decided to design and build a table for my son to construct and be creative on. This table is a perfect balance of form and function. The light-weight top lifts off to reveal lots of separated organization compartments and it’s bold legs are updated and on-trend. As a maker and a mama, it was so sweet to watch Oliver get excited about something I made for him. Scroll down to see the plans and tutorial!
SUPPLIES:
1x4 MDF - 10.5ft - cut 2 - 29”, 2 - 24”
1x3 MDF - 8.5ft - cut 4 - 4.5”, cut 3 - 24”
4” PVC pipe - cut 4 to 15”
brad nailer + nails
sander or sandpaper
Step 1: Once all your pieces are cut, sand down the edges and wipe clean.
STEP 2: Use the brad nailer to build the outer box, then construction adhesive to glue in the dividers. Then fill in the gaps and nail holes with caulk.
STEP 3: Spray paint all the pieces with several coats of spray paint. I used a black gloss lacquer paint.
STEP 4: Use the brackets and included nails to attach the legs to the top.
